Authorship

Authorship credit should be based on 1) substantial contributions to conception and design, acquisition of data, or analysis and interpretation of data; 2) drafting the article or revising it critically for important intellectual content; and 3) final approval of the version to be published. Authors should meet these three conditions.

Peer Review Process

All manuscripts are treated as confidential. They are peer-reviewed by at least three anonymous reviewers selected by the editor. The review process operates under a double-blind system. The corresponding author is notified as soon as possible of the editor’s decision to accept, reject, or request revision of manuscripts. When the final revised manuscript is determined completely acceptable according to the journal format and criteria, it will be scheduled for publication in the next available issue. Rejected papers will not be peer-reviewed again.

The criteria on paper reviewing:
- How does this manuscript advance the field of research and/or contribute something new to the literature?
- Is this manuscript relevant to the community of readers of the journal?
- Is the manuscript technically sound?
- Is the paper clearly written and well organized?
- Are all figures and tables appropriately provided and is their resolution in good quality?
- Does the introduction state the objectives of the manuscript, encouraging the reader to read on?
- Are the references relevant and complete? The reviewers should supply missing references.

Guidelines for Complaints and Appeals

An author who wishes to express a dissenting or different perspective or viewpoint on the reviewer's review comments, revision requests, and reasons for reconsideration may submit a written appeal (a letter or an e-mail) to the Editorial Board on a one-time basis, providing substantial arguments or empirical examples. If the editorial board and the editor-in-chief determines that the appeal is valid, then the editorial board makes the final decision. The author may not appeal the final decision of the Editorial Board again.

Copyright

By publishing, authors agree to have their articles stored in electronic databases that are accessible by an unspecified number of the general public. Authors of articles approved for publication are required to submit the Copyright Transfer Form. The copyright of the paper is transferred to KIISE when the copyright transfer form is submitted to KIISE.

Data Sharing and Reproducibility

We promote open science by recommending authors to include data sharing methods in their manuscripts. It is recommended that authors deposit their data, code, and materials in reputable repositories whenever possible. For proprietary or sensitive data, authors may explain access restrictions and provide a process for qualified researchers to request data. Manuscripts should contain sufficient methodological detail to enable replication. By fostering transparency and data sharing, we aim to enhance research credibility, accelerate scientific progress, and maximize the impact of published work.
